St. Padre Pio Academy's founders Tony and Linda Bisceglia have been in the education field for over fifteen years. They founded the school in September of 2003, out of their love for children. They realized a need for quality traditional Catholic education in a part of York Region that was saturated by Montessori based schools. St. Padre Pio Academy is founded on Catholic values and education principles. Our school's focus is Literacy, Numeracy, Technology, Athletics, and Languages. One of the original goals of the school was to maintain small class sizes to ensure the delivery of quality education. The school's mission is to teach children the value of quality education and ultimately foster caring and nurturing citizens.
Mr. Bisceglia received his Bachelor of Arts degree from York University, his Bachelor of Education degree from York University and his Masters of Education in Leadership and Supervision from Nipissing University. In addition, Mr. Bisceglia holds a Reading Specialist Certificate from the University of Western Ontario and a Business Studies Specialist Certificate from Queen's University. Mr. Bisceglia is also an Additional Qualification Course instructor for Drake University. Mr. Bisceglia's has published educational studies and presented his finding on EQAO assessments and Literacy testing in Ontario.
Mrs. Bisceglia holds a Diploma in Child and Youth Work from Humber College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from York University. Mrs. Bisceglia handles all the administrative aspects of the school, and her responsibilities and talents extend to every phase of the school's operation. She was instrumental in developing the spirit of caring and nurturing that pervades the school.
